Last year when composing my questionnaire I felt the results I got were not accurate. I asked friends and family a series of questions but it was not really my 'Target Market' so I decided this year to get more accurate results I composed a series of questions and spoke to the manager in HMV to ask if I could ask people who are browsing in the horror genre section as series of questions so I was able to get more accurate results and actually ask my potential target audience.
Here are the questions I came up with:
- What element of a horror trailer makes you want to go and see the film?
The intrigue, and fear a trailer evokes.
The 'Moster' in the film.
The storyline/plot
Whether or not it is based on a true story
- What horror conventions scare you the most?
Fear of the unknown
The 'Monster'
Violence
Supernatural occurrences e.g. footsteps, doors banging
- What kind of 'Monster' scares you the most?
The external monster
The internal monster
The man made monster
What makes a horror trailer different from any other trailer?
This question I decided to leave up open and not set a specific answer so I could get lots of different ideas.
