This cover of Total Film that features 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's' Mr Willy Wonka played by Johnny Depp, uses the background of the magazine as The Chocolate Factory. Similarly the main cover star portrays his quirky, slightly strange character through his clothes and his pose, he does not look domineering in any way, just like an edgy character, exactly what Mr Wonka is. Again the contingency through the cover lines and the cover star is always present as the line 'Grab your Golden Ticket' fits with the film and the alliteration helps to emphasize this. The use of the magazine conventions are effective as the Puggs and Puffs reveal exclusives to the reader and the barcode, date, price etc. show the magazine is authentic. Total Film is at the top in big bold lettering and although the reader's attention is to be mainly focused on Johnny Depp the Masthead cannot be ignored at the reader is constantly reminded that this magazine is by Total Film company.
