"Total Film is a UK-based film magazine published 13 times a year (every four weeks) by Future Publishing. The magazine was launched in 1997 and offers cinema, DVD and Blu-ray news, reviews and features. Total Film is available both in print and interactive iPad editions."
In contrast to Empire magazine, Total Film magazine not just focus' on films and characters like Empire did with Iron Man for example. Total Film has actors on the cover in this issue it is Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and the magazine is based around him. I think this is a good way to entice readers especially if they are a fan of a particular actor who appears on the cover. It still contains conventional magazine features such as the cover star using direct address. It also includes puffs and puggs all of which are key selling points. I like the use of the cover star as the main focal point again in this magazine, and how the cover lines fit with the cover star. 'Potter's bad boy gets nasty' and Tom Felton has blood on his face, there is a consistency throughout the cover which makes it more attractive. The strap line at the top 'The Modern Guide To Movies' is also a crucial selling point, as it is an implication that this is the most up to date magazine, that knows what a contemporary audience require.
