Target Audience Research (Research Into Potential Target Audience )

Finding my target audience, is something that is very important, as audience feedback
is something I have learnt to value from my AS coursework.
Hearing constructive criticism from my peers is something that last year I took on
board and ended up right at the end changing my whole coursework. So this year I have
learnt to regularly compose questionnaires and ask my peers about my work...
I firstly decided to look at the different age certificates put in place by the BBFC.
In order for a film to be classified an 18 it contains gory, bloody violence, very strong
language, sex, drug abuse/use.
For a film to be classified a 15 it contains strong language and sex.
After careful consideration and research of all classifications on the www.bbfc.co.uk
the adjective ‘strong’ was used on various occasions when describing language, violence
and ‘threat and menace’ After research www.bbfc.co.uk/classification/guidelines/15-2
this part of the website concluded what was acceptable in a 15 rated film such as
language, horror, discrimination. Overall, after researching all the terms and conditions
of each classification I was able to come to a decision and the 15 certificate seemed
most appropriate, all of the other trailers I looked at:
Paranormal Activity. The Ring and The Conjuring were also all rated 15 too.
