I chose this cover to anaylize as Twilight although not necessarily horror, vampires are associated with the Gothic genre and the creators of this magazine would of probably wanted to create the same effect as a horror film. Edward Cullen's (Robert Pattinson) face big and positioned as the main focal point is very effective and its almost as if he is staring right through you which would automatically make the reader feel on edge, exactly how Edward is portrayed in the film. His somewhat moody/blank expression is uninviting but strangely attractive, the blank expression on his face creates an air of mystery around him and although he may be a vampire and look like a villain he in fact is not. The use of the colour black adds the the mystery as it is a very dark and mysterious colour a lot like Edward Cullen's character. The fact he is wearing black also again is generic for the mythical creature. The Pugg 'TWIGHTLIGHT: NEW MOON' contrasts with the whole theme of the magazine, the bright yellow I feel maybe shows the brighter side or that Edward Cullen does has a brighter happier character, not only standing out but perhaps shows that Edward Cullen is not evil but in fact a hero in the film. The punns all reflect the Gothic vibe created and our consistent throughout the cover.

This cover of 'Little White Lies' I personally think is very effective. The genre (Thriller) is established straightaway through the positioning of the cover star and the use of the colour red acting as blood on the girl's body. It is not evident whether she is a victim or an internal monster and therefore is intriguing. I want my cover to conceal this information to and therefore entice the reader.
