Photography For Poster (Drafting and Planning)

Film Titles (Drafting and Planning)

I felt it would be more suitable to create my trailer and then come up with a name afterwards.
I thought of various names that I felt would fit the horror genre, and particular my trailer...
Because my trailer is set in an attic, I thought about using this as my film title, I want it to be short and to the point so I thought of 'The Attic' but perhaps thought this was too obvious and too cliche.

I then thought about the girl appearing in the attic and liked 'Appear' as it sounds mysterious and spooky a lot like my horror film.

I then went onto Thesaurus.com and typed in Appear to see what other words I could find.

  • Emerge
  • Come Forth
  • Occur
  • Recur
  • Derive
  • Haunt

After seeing some of these words, the one that stood out was Haunt, cause she is in fact haunting the house again I went on to the Thesaurus to find a move obscure word that I could use for my title.

  •  Intrude
  • Manifest
  • Dwell
  • Harass
  • Return
  • Torment
  • Infest

After choosing the words that I liked best I began rearranging them in sentences in order to make a title for my film....

  • The Intruder
  • Returning
  • Returned

I liked the title 'The Intruder' is implies that they are not welcome and not meant to be there, creating an air of mystery and suspense before the trailer even begins.

Dress Rehearsal and Photos for poster and magazine (Organisation and Planning)

Here my actress is wearing a wedding dress, I like that it is too big for her almost as if she has worn it for so long she is wasting away and the dress has outgrown her. I wanted her hair to look wild and untamed as if she has been in the attic for a long time.

I put talcum powder on her face to make her look white but also to show dust from the attic as if she has been in there for ages. The dark makeup under her eyes adds to her scary appearance and amplifies her stare almost as if she is looking right through you, a lot like Edward Cullen on the Empire magazine.

This is my favorite photo the long shot makes her appear very intimidating and her slightly lifted face with her hair covering it still keeps an air of mystery surrounding her, and makes her look possessed.

I used a close up of half her face to use for the good vs evil poster idea similar to The Ides of March. The expression on her face again makes her appear evil and unapproachable.
