Props and Location (Organisation of Actors, Locations, Costumes or Props)

Here is a photo of my attic, the low key lighting is very effective as it establishes the genre, also as the attic is not completely visible there is a fear of the unknown and what is lurking in the attic. Attics are very conventional locations in horror films as they are places for hiding and lurking which again all adds to the fear that there is something/someone hiding in the attic.  

Here I photographed the steps leading up to the attic. I think filming my protagonist ascending the attic steps would be very effective and add to audience anticipation. I would use very slow editing for this scene to create absolute suspense within the audience.  

This photo shows the contrast between the natural light and whiteness beneath the steps and the dark, gloomy almost grey attic. The grayness in this photo is very overwhelming and almost looks as if the steps are a picture as they do not fit at all with the attic. 

This is the dress I want my 'internal monster' (young girl) to wear . It looks aged and has an almost has a Mrs Havisham type of element to it, it looks very 1800's Gothic and is similar to what the girl wears in The Exorcism as well as the girl from The Ring. 

Here is a long shot photo of the girl in the dress, the messy hair, pale skin and dark eyes, compliment the dress as she looks although young as if she is from another era, which she essentially is. 

This is an establishing shot of the attic again the low key lighting portrays this fear of the unknown and therefore creates a foreboding sense of doom. The mirror is a particularly important prop as the girl will appear in the mirror behind the protagonist and then disappear.  

Feedback On First Mock Up Poster (Research Into Potential TargetAudience)

I showed my poster to my peers, and they gave me constructive criticism which I am going to take on board when editing and improving my film poster. The main thing they said was the main image did not fit the horror genre I was aiming for. They said it looked more like a fashion photo rather than a horror film photo. Another critic made about my poster was that the main image did not look right the way it was placed on the page, the black background and the photo almost quickly put on made the whole poster looked rushed.
However although a lot of improvements do need to be made, my peers did like the use of the 'film festival' logos, and it gave a more independent feel to the poster and the brand as a whole. So I will keep these but change the photo, background etc.

First Mock Up (Poster) (Drafting and Planning)

Here is my first poster I created using the software Paint.net. I created a link between the main image and the Film Title, it is evident to the audience that the girl plays the role of 'The Intruder' I also added 'Film Festival' logos, to make my poster feel more authentic as well  as a more independent film. Similarly, I did the same thing with the credits at the bottom.  

I like the type face as the words 'The Intruder' really stand out and emphasize the genre. The long shot I have used shows the whole of her body, however, I feel maybe I might change this image. The reason is because she looks very exposed and no longer the mysterious Intruder I had in mind.

Feedback On First Mock Up Magazine (Research Into Potential Target Audience)

After creating this magazine I presented it to my peers. They Liked the magazine and said "It fitted with The Little White Lies Theme" - (Louis)

They really liked the Color Aberration tool I used on the photograph of the girl. 

The use of black as the background establishes the horror genre.

However the improvements I should make are as follows:

There is no film title/cover line on the magazine so the audience do not know what the film is called.

Make the girl on the front slightly bigger

Used the proper Little White Lies Masthead so it is not blurry when you expand it. 

I am going to take all these comments on board and use them to improve my final draft.
